Our history
It is hard to imagine a modern Kyiv without everything was created by "Kyivmiskbud" during the period of its activity. The new Kyiv history and the "Kyivmiskbud" history are motionlessly connected the one with other.
The Company history began in 1955 when was founded the Central Administration of Inhabitable and Constructional Engineering in the structure of the Kyiv City Executive Committee on a basis of Kyiv specialized enterprises. The aim of "Kyivmiskbud" foundation was to increase volumes of inhabitable and constructional engineering in the capital of Ukraine, so as industrial methods implementation of constructional engineering.
Already in the early years of "Golovkyivmiskbud" (the first "Kyivmiskbud" company name) activity building volumes became higher in few times than those were accomplished by the organizations that had entered into its structure later. Also volumes increased almost in 30 times after 10 years.
The creation of integrated home-building factories provided the opportunity to begin a large-size panel housing construction in Kyiv that visibly improved the Kyiv citizen's life conditions. The first five-storey panel building was already built in Druzhby Narodiv Boulevard in 1958.
With the "Kyivmiskbud" workers efforts were built the over-helming majority of unique objects now beatify our city - hotels like "Slavutych", "Lybid", "Kyiv'', "Sport", "Khreschatyk", "Salut", "Kozackiy", the Great Patriotic War memorial complex, the Building of TV Automated Control System, universities, department stores, industrial objects and buildings, laboratory buildings and many others objects.
Recently the "Kyivmiskbud" builders proud became reconstructed objects - the Palace of Culture "Ukraine", National Philharmonic, the reconstructed streets and squares of Kyiv, transportation connection points near the underground station of "Petrivka", a bus terminal, Slavy square. This list was been added with the built multifunctional road interchanges in few levels - in Oleny Teligy street and Sevastopol'ska square. The building of Southern railway road terminal is certainly Kyiv decoration. It was built by "Kyivmiskbud" during the period of 158 days and nights. It's certainly a new time record for construction time frames.
The meaning of “Kyivmiskbud” 53 years of work:
The built city, which housing fund is bigger in 9 times than it was before the war - more than 40 million of housing square meters; 650 kindergartens; 338 comprehensive schools; more than 200 large medical care buildings; thousands of residential houses also commercial, social and manufacturing buildings; tens of cinemas, libraries, hotels, hundreds of laboratory and study buildings, research and scientific institutes and university; tens of thousands of roads, utility systems of different targets these provide municipal services activity; attracted in construction sphere almost one milliard of UAH of internal investments; creation of social and industrial basis for a civilized house market foundation.
"Kyivmiskbud" lives, work insistently, sublime by own work a beautiful city that its name beautifies Joint Stock Holding Company name.
Our history stages
1955 The foundation of “ Golovkyivmiskbud” . As result into the new organization structure entered 29 factories and organizations also 16 ministries and administrations, those previously reconstructed ruined by the war Kyiv.
1956 Was begun building and construction works of the first Kyiv housing estate - Chokolovskiy (Pervomaiskiy). That year was begun a complex development of Dnipro left bank area. The first residential houses were built in Nova Darnitsya. There was begun hydraulic fill of territories with the aim of improper and inundated lands using. After some period the “Golovkyivmiskbud” experience was implemented in many other Soviet Union cities and towns.
1958 Was built the first five-storied large-size panel building in Likhacheva boulevard.
1959-1962 Were created the integrated home-building factories ¹1 and ¹3 that allowed to create the industrial base of large-size panel house-construction.
1964 Was built the first large-size panel nine-storied building. After this, “ Golovkyivmiskbud” began a construction of high-block buildings.
1966 “ Ê yivmiskbud” rendered the assistance to Tashkent city to cure the crushing earthquake damages. There were created two new building units on the “Golokyivmiskbud” organizations basis for work in Tashkent . Restore works in the city became the first “Kyivmiskbud” work experience outside Ukraine and Kyiv.
1969 It was the begging of multi-storeyed housing. There was completed the construction of the first seventeen-storied large-size panel building in
1971 Approved the Intensive Development Plan of the new Kyiv housing estates construction. As results were extended city building borders.
1972 A new factory of concrete structures ¹5 began to manufacture its productions, at those days the largest in Ukraine . Its first director was Volodymyr Polyachenko. The factory became the first new manufacturing enterprise with own industrial site in a building sphere .
1982 It was initiated the largest Kyiv housing estate building – Vigurovschina , predicted for 500 thousand of citizens. And were extended city building borders.
1986 “ Kyivmiskbud” enterprises were been mobilized for works in the Chernobyl catastrophe area. That became ordeal for professionalism and durability in the extreme conditions.
1988 “ Kyivmiskbud” special units rendered assistance to cure the earthquake damages in Armenia .
1992-1995 There were been made high quality structural and economic improvements in “Glavkyivmiskbud” system. It was created the Joint Stock Holding Company “Kyivmiskbud”.
1995 There was developed a new investment system of building – housing construction, so as social objects by the attracting of population funds and investments. That was been done with the aim of achieving of an effective activity in markets conditions.
1996 There was been completed and handed over to owners the first residential house in "Osokorky" residential area . It was been built with the attracted investments. The President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma was attended at the inauguration.
1998 Started the loan-financed housing acquisition activity for the population.
1999-2000 Under authority of the President of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decisions was been deployed by “Kyivmiskbud” a new social programs for the development and stimulation of construction sphere and long-term credits extending for population.
2000 “Kyivmiskbud” had the first long-term work experience with foreign investors also were attracted internal investments for the social sphere objects construction.
There was the “Billa” supermarket inauguration in 7 letter “A”- Osokorky micro district. It became the first object “Kyivmiskbud” built for foreign investments. The project investor was the Austrian Company “Eurobilla”.
In April, 2000 year the President of Ukraine signed the Enactment "About the experiment in a housing construction on the basis of the Joint Stock Holding Company “Kyivmiskbud”. The Enactment targeted for a housing development stimulation and creation for the population of Ukraine of conditions for people retirement savings formation during their active age in order to get an additional maintenance when they will reach retirement age. In fact, the Enactment became the first document targeted for Ukrainian pension system reforms; all together it made the base for a mortgage credit lending.
In May “Kyivmiskbud” celebrated its 45 Anniversary and the 5 the Anniversary of the start-up investment activity.
There was been completed the building of residential house ¹43 on the corner of Trostyanetska street and Kharkivske Highway. The building became the first frame-monolithic block; "Kyivmiskbud" used for its construction the German "DOKA" Firm prefabricated formwork.
2001 "Kyivmiskbud" initiated residential houses development in Dnipropetrovs'k, Zaporizhya, Vinnytsa, Chernivtsi, Odesa, Vyshgorod with the aim of extending own experience in house building for the people investments,. "Kyivmiskbud" had the role of the General Contractor and Investor in those projects. Mostly the local companies accomplished the building works. There were opened "Kyivmiskbud" units of investment attraction for housing construction in these cities. There was opened "Arkada" Bank affiliated branch in Dnipropetrov'sk.
2002 The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the Act of Ukraine "About amendments to Enactment of Ukraine "About the experiment in a housing construction on the basis of Joint Stock Holding Company "Kyivmiskbud", so it improved and developed a legislative base of Ukrainian citizens retirement insurance.
2003 In February, it took place the contract subscription between JSHC "Kyivmiskbud" (General Contractor) and the German company "METRO Cash and Carry"(the Consumer) for the construction of the Shopping Center of wholesale food and non-food goods in Kyiv (Orbital road). And that year on the 19 of August, surround a solemn atmosphere was opened the first Trade Center of Wholesaler "Metro Cash and Carry" in Kyiv. The area sale pavilion consisted - 1,5 ha.
2004 Joint Stock Holding Company and its financial partner - Joint Stock Commercial Bank "Arcada" undertook a significant step for own clients - the lodgment that granted the assignment of an apartment to investor, was been reduced from 30 to 25 percent of the accommodation value. And necessary sum to conclude an agreement on long-term mortgage loan (up to 30 years) - was reduced from 35 to 30 percent of the chosen accommodation value.
There been held a bookmark memorial tablets into the foundation of the future five-storeyd construction of the house of Football on the National Sport Complex "Olimpiskyy" high pool territory.
On the 1 of September the first pupils attended a new-built Scandinavian gymnasium ¹28 in 7-Osokorky housing estate.
The Joint Stock Holding Company "Kyivmiskbud" was been awarded with the Quality management system certificates according to services in organization and building management of housing and civil objects and real estates owners service to SSTU ISO 9001-2001.
2005 In honor of "Kyivmiskbud" 50 Anniversary were been organized - Sport Competition, skills competitions for the title of "Best in own profession," gala evening in "Ukraine" palace, National Bank of Ukraine issued and put into circulation anniversary coin of hryvna with nominal value of two hryvnas.
Launched the program of post-war building blocks reconstruction. At the appointed day, inhabitants of two-storied houses in 112 and 114, Cossatska street were watching their future flats in a new 14-storied residential house ¹97 in the same street, which was built by Stock Holding Company "Kyivmiskbud".
There was made a subtraction of future "Heart centre" at the building site that situated on Ambulance hospital territory.
In London "Kyivmiskbud" was awarded with the International platinum prize "Crown of Quality".
The Joint Stock Holding Company "Kyivmiskbud" was awarded with the international prize "the Best Europe Enterprize". The Company President Volodymyr Polyachenko was honored with dignity of "the Best Leader of the Year" with the badge presentation.
2006 The Joint Stock Holding Company "Kyivmiskbud" according to the work sums of 2005 was awarded with title of the Laureate of the Ukrainian Building Olympus Premium in the category "Best Construction Company in Kyiv" with the presentation of diplomas and statuettes
In May was held the General shareholders assembly of JSHC "Kyivmiskbud". In connection with the fact Volodymyr Polyachenko had been elected the Member Parliament; assembly removed him from the composition of the Management Board. In accordance with the assembly decision Volodymyr Polyachenko was elected the Honorary President of JSHC "Kyivmiskbud". The assembly elected Petro Shyluk for the post of the Chairman.of Management Board.
It was built the first 34-storied high block residential house in Osokorky 7 A housing estate. The program of scientific research and experimental work involved many experts and scientific research institutions, including a large set of issues associated with load-resistant structures, the possible forms of deformations, fire events, testing the basic elements of the bearing frame dwelling house on fire, health, environmental and other research. The results of the scientific establishment has become the basis for future regulatory framework of multistory building in Ukraine. This is the first of four pilot high-rise residential buildings, which the company has began to built. The skyscraper height is over 106 meters. It consists of two sections of 28 and 34 floors, There are 357 apartments (29 227 sq. m.) on the building floors. There is underground park place for of 100 vehicle places. The first two floors were predicted for office and commercial non-residential premises. The house is equipped with nine elevators, which move with speed of 1,6-2 meters per second. There is also a special high-speed elevator for the fire brigade transportation. There is a fire helicopter playground on the building roof.
It was completed the construction of:
- The second stage of comprehensive school ¹ 177 in Solomyanskiy district;
- The second starting complex of a secondary school ¹ 76 in Svyatoshinskiy distict;
- Children's clinic at Podvysotskogo Str. in Pechersk district;
- AIDS Center in Svyatoshinskiy district;
- The House of Football Federation of Ukraine and the complex structures of a football pool;
- Administrative building of the Solomyanskya Municipal State Administration.
In a very short term (for 4 months) as general contractor, the company built and put into service "Metro Cash and Carry" Wholesaler Center in Poltava.
In 2006, the Executive Office and number of organizations audited and confirmed the relevance of own activities to ²SÎ 9001-2000 standard quality.
2007 In the City Mayor's Office was held the first investment tender for three residential homes construction for victims of fraud connected with the "Elite-Center" activities, JSHC "Kyivmiskbud" was recognized the winner of the tender. Addresses of those sites - 66, Geroiv Stalingradu Avenue; 1-3, Mayakovsky str.; at the intersection of Virmenska street and Kharkivske Highway. There will be built three residential houses with total area of 45 906 sq.m. at this sites. There will be 362 flats. 25% of the residential space will be provided to the fraud victims.
In 2007, two high-block residential houses were put into service in Sribnokilska street and Darnitskiy district of Kyiv.
Almost all participants and supervisory authorities of the Experiment, including the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction have recognized that JSHC "Kyivmiskbud" completed the first part of the experiment in housing for the high buildings design and erection, which height exceed 73.5 meters. So was gained practical experience which is foundation for the formation of Ukrainian state building construction standards and operation of high block buildings.
The Company Enterprises completed the construction of the Kyiv Heart Centre, comprehensive schools ¹ 76, ¹ 279, ¹ 115, ¹ 144, children's facilities at the site of Poznyaky 6. All objects were put into service at scheduled time or earlier than was predicted by projects time frames.
At the Housing Development Meeting the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko underlined the particular JSHC "Kyivmiskbud"role in the affordable housing principles formation. The social orientation of the market activity of JSHC "Kyivmiskbud", experience of Company became the basis of Presidential Decree ¹ 1077/2007 "About the event for the construction of affordable housing in Ukraine and the improvements of housing for citizens."
In August, the "Kyivmiskbud" Directors Board meeting was held. At the meeting were summed up the company works for the first half of that year.
In honor of the Builder Professional Day, the Construction Chamber of Ukraine for the first time solemnized the best incumbents of building sphere by its medal "Golden trowel". One of these medals was awarded to the President of JSHC "Kyivmiskbud" - Petro Shylyuk.
